Paul’s Laws

A collection of concepts that help me make sense of the Universe, in no particular order. YMMV

  1. What you see, is what you get. If this doesn’t work out for you, that probably means that you need to learn to see better…
  2. What you want is not always what you get, and what you get is not always what you want.
  3. That Murphy guy was right.
  4. Never ask a question that you don’t want the answer to. See #2
  5. There are no technological solutions to social problems.
  6. Good, Quick, Cheap. Pick any two. You can’t have all three with some rare exceptions.
  7. You can’t fix stupid.  You can mitigate it, you can try to manage it, but in the end, the universe will always build a better idiot.
